Criteria and performance format

Duo competition with a final at the BICOF festival, which will take place in September 2026 in Bucheon (South Korea). This competition will feature teams that will present a performance on stage lasting up to three minutes. The costumes must be made by cosplayers and are also subject to evaluation. Participation in the performance by anyone other than the elimination participants (including remote) is excluded. The selected team from Poland will qualify for the international final.

The points in the competition are distributed as follows: costume evaluation (compliance with the ref and execution) - 50%, performance evaluation - 50%. Participants can earn an additional 10% for good contact with the audience (eye contact, audience reaction to the performance, etc.). One reserve team will also be designated.

Travel expenses to Korea and accommodation during the competition are part of the prize for the finalist.

Participants

The qualifiers are open to any person who holds Polish citizenship, registers for the Cosplay Contest in the category “Qualifiers for Gyeonggi International Cosplay Festival Championship 2026,” and turns 18 no later than September 16, 2026.

Foreign nationals may also participate in the Polish qualifiers for GICOF Championship 2026 if they hold permanent residence in Poland and have lived in the country for at least three years, regardless of whether their country of origin has its own qualifiers. However, they may not participate in qualifiers for this competition in any other country. If a person has already participated in the GICOF Championship finals as a representative of another country, they may not enter the Polish qualifiers until at least three years have passed since that final.

Costumes

Costumes must be made by the participants competing in them. They must be based on official artwork from any comic/manga, computer/video game, animated or live action film or series. Costumes based on fan art or your own designs will not be accepted for this contest.

Costumes already presented in other contests are accepted for the eliminations, provided that no more than a year has passed since the stage premiere, and they have not been used in the finals of international tournaments, nor have they won any elimination competition for these tournaments. Costumes that were presented in the eliminations but did not win are allowed. Costumes that go beyond the boundaries of good taste (offensive to specific people or groups, pornographic, etc.) will not be accepted for the contest.
